Greenbrier County, WV and in particular Lewisburg have been featured in articles in the Washington Post and New York Times (see our Press Release link for those articles.) A more relaxed pace of life, temperate climate as well as reasonable prices for investment and vacation properties are just a few of the advantages to living in this southeastern corner of West Virginia. If you enjoy outdoor activities, hiking, kayaking, fishing, white water rafting and superb snow skiing are close by. Golf is a favorite pastime of many and there are several courses to choose from including several world-class courses at The Greenbrier. Of special interest is the 1884 Oakhurst Links course which is one of the first golf courses in the United States, where you can play a round using their historically accurate equipment.
Cultural activities include tours of North House, a house museum built in 1820 which contains many of the finest examples of early Virginia furnishings. The museum’s extensive archives include many documents signed by Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe and Patrick Henry and are available for research. The Greenbrier Valley Theater offers a variety of plays throughout the year performed by professional actors. Carnegie Hall is one of the three Carnegie Halls in the United States commissioned by Andrew Carnegie. In addition to hosting art shows and classes in all mediums, Carnegie Hall offers concerts by many renowned artists. You can also find our local celebrities performing downtown on any given evening.
